Is regulatory uncertainty hindering the growth of essential B2B services?
FEBIS welcomes the EU's Digital Package, aimed at simplifying regulations and reducing the compliance burden on businesses. This package presents an opportunity to clarify key aspects of digital regulation that affect Business Information Providers (BIPs) and their ability to deliver critical services like trade credit risk solutions, KYC, and fraud detection.
The call for evidence, which closed on October 14th, was a key step in gathering feedback from stakeholders. The outcome of this process is expected in the fourth quarter of 2025, and FEBIS urges the EU to ensure that regulatory clarity is achieved without stifling innovation. We call for the recognition of BIPs' legitimate interest in accessing public sector data to continue supporting a transparent and secure business environment.
FEBIS also advocates for a modernized regulatory framework and a fair European Business Wallet (EBW) to ensure a competitive and inclusive digital ecosystem. Clearer, more streamlined regulations are essential for fostering B2B innovation and supporting business growth.
